Hillview Ladies meet regularly during term time for study, prayer and fellowship and there are current two studies happening.

“Here and Now…There and Then” by Beth Moore

The first one is “Here and Now…There and Then” by Beth Moore which is a lecture series on the book of Revelation. This study is held every second Saturday at Hillview at 9.30am, the first study will begin on Saturday 26th September. Beth presents many points of view, allowing women to decide for themselves when the interpretation varies among scholars. She teaches that God is as specific about what He does reveal as He is about what He does not reveal. There are 11 sessions which are approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes with some light homework.

Life-builder series – ‘Woman of the Old Testament’

The second study is more informal, meeting and doing the study together. We are looking at using the Life-builder series, possibly ‘Woman of the Old Testament’. This group will meet every second Friday at Hillview, from 9.30-11am and will begin on Friday 25 September. To enable young mum’s to attend, the room will be set up with a play area for children (there isn’t a crèche at this study as yet!) The women in the Old Testament were ordinary people, most would not make headlines in any other history book but God’s. Yet the women of the Old Testament made critical choices that led to extraordinary results.  Through faith and strong character they rescued their families, led people out of bondage, gave birth to kings and saved a nation.  Each one demonstrates the far-reaching consequences of everyday actions. This Lifebuilder Bible Study features additional questions for starting group discussions and for meeting God in personal reflection, together with expanded leader’s notes and an extra ‘Now or Later’ section in each study. There are twelve studies in this book covering: Sarah and Hagar, Miriam, Rahab, Ruth, Naomi, Hannah, Abigail, The Shunammite woman who uses her resources to help Elisha, Esther and finally a look at what makes a model wife.

If you would like to come along and be part of either or both of these studies, could you please contact Chrissi or Iris to let them know and they can organise books for you.
