Scott is married to Rachel (since August 2008) and they have two children; Zoe and Rory.
As you may have heard from some of Scott’s sermons, he has a keen interest in sport – however these days it’s more watching than playing!
Scott began working for the church in 2013 after a career in finance. Scott served as the pastor for youth and outreach in the church until summer 2024 and then moved into the role of Hillview pastor. Scott has a passion to see disciples grow in Christ. Grow is the key word. Growth begins the day that Jesus gives us revelation of His love and our need of Him, all the way up to the moment we enter into eternity. We all need to continually grow in Christ; growing in communion with Him, growing in service of the Kingdom, growing in love for one another, growing in the renewing of our minds – the list could go on! Scott desires to see people choose to live a life of radical worship of King Jesus.
Scott also sits on the Magnitude Core Team. Magnitude is a Christian Youth Festival that takes please each summer at the SU Centre Lendrick Muir. At this festival over 1000 young people from across Scotland come together to worship Jesus. Scott also sits on the BMS World Mission Council. BMS is a mission sending organisation and looks to bring the Good News of Jesus to the world. The council act as a sounding board for the trustees and Scott attends these meetings twice per year.
Romans 10:14-15 “But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about God?
Love
Favourite Bible character?
Paul. The power of God to turn a life around and use them for His glory and purpose is displayed so evidently in his story.
Pass times/Hobbies
I still enjoy playing the odd game of football, watching movies, watching any sport (a part from darts – that’s not a sport!)
Favourite Films
I watch way too many movies to be able to pick out one favourite, so here are a few. Back to the Future Trilogy, State of Play, Gladiator, Ground Hog Day, Indiana Jones Trilogy (there was no fourth film!!), Remember the Titans and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. I could go on, but won’t!
