If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray
and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
(2 Chron. 7:14)
Prayer is so fundamental and crucial isn’t it. We desire for it to be at the very centre of the life of our church. Of course we don’t always get that right – but that’s our hope and goal.
But more than just being essential (which it is!), we want to see prayer as an incredible privilege. It’s one of the commitments we make in our membership covenant:
“We will embrace the privilege of bringing our prayers – individually and together – before our Father in heaven, in the knowledge that He only gives good gifts to His children.”
So, here are some of the ways that we pray at Hillview.
This is an important part of our regular rhythm of prayer as a church. Every week small groups are on, we spend time in worship and bringing the needs of the church before God. Find out more about small groups.
Every week, from 10:00am – 10:20am, we meet before the start of our service of worship to bring that day before God. Come along to the lounge and join us.
On the first and third Wednesday of each month, we meet from 10:15am – 11:30am in the lounge. We spend time in worship, thanksgiving and intercession.
Of course, these are not the only ways we’re praying as a church, but they are some of the main opportunities at the moment.
